![]() Please see our detailed guide for beginners on how to use Premiere Pro. There you have it, how to speed up a clip or slow down in Premiere Pro. Please see our detailed guide and video tutorial on how to speed ramp in Premiere Pro. See this video below for an example of a speed ramp. Now, I’ll simply press the Reverse Speed. I’ll select the second clip from above and and open up Clip > Speed/Duration. ![]() The clip will show a -100 label on it, denoting both the speed and direction of the clip. Speed ramping is an effect when changing from one speed to another in a smooth ramp-like manner (just like in the video below).įor example, a clip can be playing in normal motion, then all of a sudden it slows down with a smooth “wind-down” effect to slow motion. Open Clip > Speed/Duration and select the Reverse Speed checkbox. Once updating to the 15.4 (Silicon) all of my playback and export became shaky, jittery, rubber banding, and choppy (as if frames are being dropped) on any clips that use Speed / Duration edits. If you don’t do this, the frame rate will not match properly and the footage will look jumpy. I never had issues with modifying Speed / Duration on my 2020 Macbook Pro (M1 chip) using the Intel version of Premiere Pro. Pro tip – it’s good practice to only change the speed of the clip in multiples of the clip’s frame rate.
